Age Range
For research purpose I am going to focus on KS2 or ages 7-11 in order to target a foundational understanding of number.
Many of the concepts learned during this time are also repeated and built upon in KS3, making it a good age range to provide resources for.
Area of Mathematics
During KS2 children normally cover:
- Number and Place Value
- Addition and Subtraction
- Multiplication and Division
- Fractions, Decimals and Percentages
- Measurement
- Geometry
- Statistics
- Ratio and Proportion
- Algebra
For research purposes I am going to focus on arithmetic, as it is simply the study of numbers.
